Alright so I was struggling to come up with a really awesome title and so that’s what you guys get! If you follow me on facebook or twitter or instagram then you know that on Friday, April 10 I was lucky enough to attend A Cause of Elegance Fashion Show hosted by VeritiaSimone LLC. And if you aren’t following me on social media shame on you, you are missing awesome articles, photos, and announcements! I attended this fashion show because one of the brands that I am interning for, The House of Fleur Fleur, was walking in the show. This was their FIRST ever fashion show and I thought it was important for me to attend and support them on their new venture. I would like to praise Rent the Runway for getting my dress to me in such a short period of time, I ordered the dress on Wednesday early afternoon and was able to pick it up from UPS at noon on Friday. I chose to pick up my dress because I was on my way out of Savannah and I know that UPS gets to my house late in the afternoon. I rented a $500 dress for only $70 plus shipping! I rented a SACHIN + BABI Get To Abstracting Sheath Dress and paired it with black Michael Kors peep toe heels, a sparkly clutch, and a simple but elegant Chloe and Isabel ring. After a SIX hour drive to Atlanta due to traffic and construction I finally arrived in Atlanta and then I spent another 30 minutes or so navigating downtown Atlanta traffic. During all of this standstill traffic I removed my nail polish and gave myself some fresh nail color. You gotta entertain yourself somehow! I found a gas station, changed in a slightly sketchy bathroom (sorry mom!) (jk not that sorry I know you’ve seen your fair share of sketchy bathrooms while traveling alone, like mother like daughter) I changed applied some lip color and I was ready to introduce myself to my employers. Oh yes, this was the first time I would be face to face meeting my employers, due to me working for them remotely we had only spoken on the phone. I parked my car and set about trying to find the venue. I ended up in the tattoo shop next to The House Of Blended Ink (the fashion shows venue) got directed to the correct building, and I walk outside and it starts DOWNPOURING. I stand under the awning hoping to wait it out, no such luck. Thankfully some of the press walked by and offered me shelter under their umbrella. When I reach the venue and I talk my way backstage I am warmly greeted by my boss Fleur Fleur, we hug and click right away. I meet the models and the house stylist who is also warm and extremely friendly. Ten minutes into this and you would have never known that we had never meet before. I arrived roughly two hours before the show actually started so I got to experience the entire set up, makeup, pre show jitters, and walk practice. This was my first ever fashion show and I had front row seats! Loved it. After the show I networked and chatted with my boss and even did an interview for UnderGrindATL. Then I went back to the House to check out the shop and receive the skirt I had ordered from the shop. This place is every fashionista’s dream, sparkling floors, silver painted wood wardrobes with clear glass panels that allow you to view the clothing, a HUGE mirror set up at the perfect angle and all of the cute girlie accessories you would associate with a fashion house. If you want to see all of my behind the scenes pictures please go like my facebook page I will be sharing an album of photos from the show and you can follow The House of Fleur Fleur on Tumblr to get even more, including behind the scenes videos and a video of the runway show!
